FAQ: DESI Products

  • Do parts have to be systematically replaced or serviced?

    No. No need. In the case of very hard water, we only recommend decalcifying with vinegar or decalcifying agent as required.

  • What do I have to do if the atomizer or the battery have to be replaced?

    The service takes place in our company headquarters and is carried out by specialists.

  • What if I need spare parts, e.g. Fluid basket, carrying straps etc.?

    These parts are in stock and can be shipped.

  • Our air disinfection devices DESI® DRY MOBILE 1000 and DESI® DRY STATION 1600. How do they work?

    Our devices work with plasma high-voltage technology forexcellent air quality. HEPA 13 filters are built into our devices. This means that our devices are very quiet. In the case of air plasmatization, a HEPA 12 filter would be sufficient for disinfection, but we use a HEPA 13 filter for our customers.

    With a HEPA 14 filter, there would be too much air pressure accumulation and thus the devices would be significantly louder. Our devices are approved for use in transplant centers, blood banks etc. So you can be sure that you are getting the best possible protection.

    HEPA14 filters are important when there is no additional plasmatization.

  • The HEPA filters have to be replaced after a certain period of time, which costs a lot of money. How high are the following resp. maintenance costs?

    A filter costs € 395 and should be replaced once a year. If the maintenance is to be carried out by us, service costs of € 180 arise.

  • How loud are the DESI® DRY devices?

  • What does our DESI® CLEAR MASK do?

    Because our CLEAR MASK is ergonomically shaped and fits closely to the face, it is approved as protection by the Bavarian Ministry of Health. It also fulfills the workplace guidelines. We do not claim to keep aerosols away. We claim that our CLEAR MASK can prevent droplet infections verywell. If you wear the CLEAR MASK, you will be surprised how many droplets there are inside and outside of the mask at the end of the day.

    The CLEAR MASK is certified and approved according toworkplace guidelines as a PPE:

  • How are the DESI® MONITOR thresholds defined? 1000 ppm green and > 2000 ppm red?

  • Why do you measure another 4 parameters and the CO₂ concentration in the monitor?

    The parameters explained:

    AQI: Air Quality Index and PM values

    The AQI indicates how high the air pollution from pollutants is in the room. The lower the value, the better the air quality. A high value means poor air quality. Our monitor shows these values in a traffic lightsystem.

    CO₂ content - carbon dioxide

    Why is it so important to monitor CO₂ levels?

    Due to climate change, this is very important. It is also advisable to monitor the CO₂ content indoors. The level of CO₂ can have an impact on our safety, health and energy efficiency. The following reasons speak in favor of monitoring:

    • CO₂ spreads very quickly in poorly ventilated rooms

    Carbon dioxide levels can rise very quickly in poorly ventilated offices and classrooms. In a closed room of approx. 4m² with a single person, the CO₂ content can rise from 500 ppm to over 1000 ppm in just 45minutes.

    • The ability to concentrate is impaired by a high CO₂ value

    The Harvard School of Public Health affirms that carbondioxide has a direct, negative effect on our ability to concentrate. This was particularly noted in classrooms and offices.

    • Productivity is reduced by a high CO₂ value

    Increased carbon dioxide values ​​between 1000 ppm and 2500 ppm lead to headaches and / or concentration disorders, especially in classrooms or offices. The bad air lowers performance, which in turn leads to a decrease in productivity.

    HUM - humidity

    • Dry air promotes the spread of viruses and bacteria

    Appropriate humidity improves the indoor air climate immensely. Not only are the mucous membranes kept pleasantly moist, but viruses and bacteria can spread much more poorly than in dry air. The humidity should be kept between 40-60%.

    TVOC values

    Recommendations (Seifert 1999) name a range of 0.2-0.3 mg /m³ as the target range for living space hygiene. Exceeding this value is not necessarily a hazard, but should give cause for investigation. A permanent exposure between 1-3 mg / m³ should be avoided or only tolerated temporarily.

  • Does every room have to be equipped with a DESI® MONITOR?

    That would make sense, as there is a different climate in every room - depending on how it is used. (depending on the number of people, different activities, air conditions). By using the DESI® MONITOR you can continue to work sensibly and safely.
